Jax Jumbo Sequence Tube Game

Product Description

Editorial Review
With touches of canasta, rummy, and poker, this card game could easily become a Friday-night family favorite. The object of the game is to get a "sequence," meaning a row of five poker-like chips on the playing mat. The vinyl mat itself (approximately 28 by 32 inches) shows rows of face-up playing cards. Players place their "crowning" chips on top of the card pictures, and can set up sequences by using careful strategizing and knowing which Sequence cards to keep and discard. Since forethought, luck, and back-up plans are the keys to winning this game, it is probably too sophisticated for children under 7 years old. (But young ones can team up with adults.) The attractive mat and stacks of colorful chips add aesthetic appeal for elders and children alike. --Gail Hudson

Buyer Reviews

Properly worth the extra cash for this game format. Bought a closable travelling soap dish for the cards, and far better Ziploc® bags for the chips - and throw everything into the tube. Having read some comments about the flexible board curling gave some hesitation for going this route. This was solved by rolling the board with the printing on the outside, so that when the board is unrolled the natural temporary edge curl is downwards. The only possible negative is the tube is not handy for travelling or storage

I did not grow up with this game, but I wish I did. It really is a outstanding family game and it's great to play with good friends right after dinner. The preferred part is you do not have to have to currently know how to play. You can discover this game in the 4 minutes it takes to set up the board and shuffle the cards. Our children play it, and their Grandmother loves it too.
Get the large tube version. It really is nicely worth the investment. I't less difficult to see and the texture of the board indicates the chips don't move about significantly if the table gets bumped. A further very good point is games don't go on forever, a game could possibly go for 30 minutes, alot more or less, so we'll get about three games in when we play.
While the game is not difficult, it really is full of choices and lends itself to strategy. It is not just a random factor who wins. The kids have to have to have vision and assume ahead when they play. Thinking in patterns is also helpful and attempting to time plays is also critical. A single final advantage, is that the youngsters have under no circumstances fought over the play or outcome of this game.
