Consumer Reviews

Below I am going to cut and paste my very first evaluation of this toy, a single I posted nearly 3 years ago. My five stars still hold accurate while I have had some leg weakness given that then (but we've owned the toy 6 years now and I've got three bigger youngsters--7, 5, three--leaning on it in each and every direction as well as an 80 lb. labrador retriever who has taken to standing in it to appear over the fence, ahem...anyway). I am about to rescrew new holes in each leg and the table and fill the legs with stand to make it stable again but it is totally worth it given the joy it has brought my youngsters. The water cover is still 100% successful and the toy nevertheless looks practically brand new. I have purchased 1 a great deal more new umbrella since my final evaluation. So, that's two new umbrellas and some leg upkeep in 6 years. Not negative. I'm determined to preserve it mainly because it is a outstanding location for us to do lots of messy science experiments and activities, as listed below, that are preferred kept outdoors.
Old Assessment from May very well 2007:
First of all, we have had this toy for 3 years and it nevertheless looks like the very first day it came out of the box (in the BLAZING Texas sun). Also, it has been moved about too lots of instances to count and is nonetheless as robust as ever. It is durable. Plus, it genuinely does keep water out and the cover stays put tightly even through the most violent and windy thunderstorms. The umbrella is awesome, though I did have to replace it once due to weathering. I soooooooo don't care. Read on...
I'm on my third kid now and if there is one particular factor I'm sick of, it really is the toy that's a 1-trick pony. I'm actually seeking for much more versatility in a toy. That stated, let me tell you why we will maintain this toy till the kids outgrow it even even though we also have an 8x10 ft. sandbox in the back yard. Sure, it's a sand and water table but we've completed it all:
(1) sand alone
(two) water alone
(three) potting soil/trowels/silk plants/plastic pots
(four) landscaping stones and small Tonka construction autos (aka "the quarry")--from time to time the tiny trucks even deliver to the Tonka Mighty and it goes on for hours
(five) bubble resolution to use with the huge wands and even the smaller and completely different wands (so that the youngsters are not fighting over the tiny opening of a tiny bottle of bubbles that inevitably gets spilled all more than the patio)
(6) a Mommy-produced iceburg (colored blue) on the hottest summer day with dollar store penguins and polar bears--you can even shave the iceburg to make snow (I applied a putty knife) and place crushed ice (if your refrigerator tends to make it) in the water to make it a happier habitat
(7) dishwater and play dishes with sponges and scrubbers to play clean-up with no creating a mess at the sink like they do inside
(8) aquarium gravel/toys/plants with pretend fish
(9) sand more than buried "fossils" (pretend dinosaur bones discovered at the local dollar store) -- Place a compact layer of sand on the bottom of the table, place bones all over that, add far more sand to fill, then saturate all the sand with water and let it dry fully (left in sun, may take a day or two based on temps). That way, they'll in fact be able to type of chisel the bones out as an alternative of just very easily moving the sand.
(ten) sand sifters and dirt with many sizes of rocks that I spray painted gold -- super entertaining day!
(11) measuring spoons/cups/jugs that educate lessons about volume -- pair with bath color tablets to find out about color mixing!
(12) Did you know that Little Men and women Like to go to the beach? (Off subject, they're also not opposed to a tumble in the dishwasher!)
(13) any quantity of arts and crafts activities that I would rather do outside than inside (generating slime, papier mache, etc.)
(14) tin pans/muffin cups paired with dirt/sticks/water mud for mud pies
(15) sand castles, of course!
(16) dinosaurs and a number of animals add a tremendous quantity of play value to your fundamental sand environment.
Nicely, that's all that I can keep in mind doing in 3 years time as I sit here writing this assessment, though I'm positive there is a great deal more. As if all that isn't sufficient, this table is a amazing size. No elbowing for far more space right here. There's space for 6 youngsters. Yep, a single on each finish and two on each side. Accurate story.
Do you miss sipping iced tea and reading a magazine or chatting with pals? It can occur once more when your toddler plays happily and safely. I Appreciate this toy. Can you tell?

I purchased this even immediately after the reviews about leaks in the legs. The style honestly is a bit silly as there is no cause to have holes for the legs as you screw them in via the side. We put it together and it leaked, I took it apart bought some sealant at my neighborhood hardware retailer and reassembled. No a lot more leaks and my little girl (16 months) loves this table. We only place water in both sides as that's entertainment enough for her. We live in Texas and I am afraid of snakes and bugs receiving in, so when she's ready for sand the truth that it is not on the ground and has a cover will aid. I can see how it would be a little heavy with sand if you need to have to continuously move it but general it's a awesome product. If we did not have to use sealant to get it to quit leaking I would have given it 4 stars.
