Buyer Critiques

My 3-year-old was initially quite excited about this toy, but the newness wore off swiftly.
Pros:
- Lets youngsters study about the course of action of creating issues in a "factory" line
- Enjoyable, vivid colors: comes with 6 little cans of play-dough
- Moving conveyor belt adds some interest
Cons:
- Really tricky to clean out all of the excess play-dough that is left in the toy following use
- The "stamper wheel" shape selector is developed in such a way that the kid can't see what shape he's trying to select on the wheel. The image gets covered up by the plastic wheel holder, so they not only can't see what shape is selected, but it really is hard to tell if it really is even lined up appropriately to stamp properly on the assembly line.
- This toy came with the most ridiculous "security" packaging I have EVER seen on any toy. It took about 20 minutes to unpack and get it ready for play (cut ties, install batteries, and so on).
- Once the initial new excitement and mastering approach wears off, this toy appears to move in slow motion. The conveyor belt really should have adjustable speeds for when the child gets proficient at the approach.
Overall:
I wouldn't get this toy once again. My kid was bored with it after 1 week. I assume the concept is cool, but the execution is disappointing.

When I put this together, installed batteries (two "C", not included!) and set it up for my little guys, I was underwhelmed. The batteries move the conveyor belt - whoopie. It has a single press which makes a bead of Play-Doh come out, exactly where you cut it into pieces that go onto the belt. The belt carries it under a stamper - choice of two stamping wheels, every single with eight images - and then to an additional cutter, prior to falling into a tiny bin at the end. The six colored circles you can see in the picture are spots that hold little tubs of Play-Doh (included! although it doesn't say so on the package) - so whilst it looks like they may be alot more shaping tools/toys, they are not.
What I underestimated, even though, was how a lot fun Play-Doh is, in itself. My boys (practically 3 and nearly 5) have not had substantially exposure to Play-Doh before, and so the 1st time I got this out, they played with it continuously for three hours. That is ideal - Three HOURS. I was playing with them, and I was bored with it in about 15 minutes - hence the critique title - look at it with a child's eyes - they see it as far more entertaining than an adult does!
One situation with something Play-Doh is the color - two minutes with several tubs open, and you will by no means have a pure color again. Oh properly. The colors in this set are brilliant and appealing, or they had been for a while just before getting hopelessly blended. This set also comes with a mat, a thing to put down to maintain your table clean, but it tore particularly conveniently.
I will let my boys use this on the deck, so Play-Doh does not get ground into the carpet. They are enjoying it - which is, just after all, extra fundamental than what I believe.
