Buyer Evaluations

sorry to say to the fans out there that have been waiting for this guy, do not give your hopes up.
just got my pre-order right now from toys r us. absolute rubbish :( been searching forward to this factor for five years now, i'm definitely bummed out. the creators had a certainly fantastic idea, but mass production did it no favors. guess i shoulda identified much better considering that it ended up being a toys r us exclusive. $50 is way too a lot for this point, $30 could possibly have been a little much easier to swallow the suffering.
my largest gripe is that it seems to have about as substantially memory as a casio calculator watch... pause 2 seconds to listen to the music, dance for about five-ten seconds, pause once more, rinse repeat. side by side with the spoon video [...] its not even remotely close. sometimes it looks like it really is getting epileptic fits...
it's cute to look at, other than that it is a total waste:
- loud motor (turn that music up if you want to hear it more than the motor...)
- jerky movements
- the base seems sturdy sufficient, but the touch sensors feels like some thing a kid would break super very easily
- TAKES eight AA BATTERIES (what is this a rc vehicle from the 80s?)
- the 'bleeps bloops' it tends to make when waking or shutting down are awfully loud and have no volume control
- none of the images or videos i've seen online give you a sense of scale either (at ~1ft high, it's way bigger than i expected)
- touch mode is even worse than music mode... most of the time you've gotta hold down the base to be in a position to push the sensor tough sufficient for it to respond.
i will try to leave a video review tomorrow, to it to work in music mode needs the volume to be way as well loud for this time of night... :/ could possibly be ok if you happen to be djing at a club or party, but this is without a doubt not workplace friendly!
guess i might hack it and see if i can strengthen it in anyway. (note: turning it off is already an improvement...)
sorry for the bad news everybody :( possibly they'll make a 2. version, i'd gladly spend $100+ to get a single that worked correctly.

We've had the Keepon considering the fact that the Sunday right after it came out and we've been playing with it everyday. My children like it, they assume it is hilarious! They are playing with it in touch mode, it squeaks and makes funny noises, it reminds me of R2D2 sounds. He repeats some items you do, and moves about to look at you (following your voice). Here's a little clip of him rockin' out in front of the personal computer, followed by a bit of touch-mode play. It's as well poor he didn't come with USB so that he could use power from the personal computer, mainly because then I would leave him on all the time, it is entertaining to watch him dance. Keepon does have A/C so you can invest in an adapter separately to save batteries. He does tend to have a quirky pause every single when in a when but it is not such a large deal as other reviewers have stated. He just continues dancing away! Keepon is durable given that has taken a beating from the little one particular and is nonetheless fully functional. Correct, it is not the Keepon Pro as on YouTube, but it is nevertheless a terrific toy. Fun to watch, entertaining to play with, entertaining - so far so superior
