Buyer Critiques
Bought this after seeng my daughter mesmerized with it at a mall a couple years ago. Track is interchangeable normally enjoyable. It can be folded more than small obstacles. I would have enjoyed a lot as a little boy. My two girls (24) enjoyed watching it last year and trying to catch the automobiles, but hadn't been overly-engaged in re-building tracks at the time.
A couple folks noted the motors shed power more than time. Ours did the same, and we were about to permanently retire the toy, but I took apart the automobiles (two small phillips screws- one hidden in battery compartment to eliminate outside of car, and two even more to get rid of motor shroud) to reveal the drive-side back wheel shaft is knurled to the edge of the shaft housing and is susceptible to picking up hairs and carpet lint, producing it more resistive to turning more than time. A ten minute clean-up created shaft effortless to turn restored power to new (pull off gear-side wheel by holding wheel firmly and twisting/pulling the gear-side wheel, tiny needle-nose pliers or maybe a toothpick or stick-pin will ease the job).
Looking forward to playing with it once again now! Hope my youngsters do also :)
My four yr old had gotten this for a birthday present. She just loves placing together all the completely different track layouts. It is so straightforward to snap all of the tracks together, and they are so flexible, that she tries to drape the tracks down the front of the couch. It comes with 2 hard SUV automobiles.
CONS: The only concern we had with the cars, is there are small round rubber treads that go over every single of the wheels. These tend to come off, and if stretched out the vehicles won't certainly operate on the tracks. When calling the business they said they will send far more rubber treads out to me, so it will have to be an concern with these. Given that they can come off fairly simple, I would watch with smaller youngsters around who might possibly place these into their mouths.
I wonder why they just didn't develop treads onto the rotating tires.
Other than the wheels, the product seems to be durable and fun for my kid.
