Hexbug is a micro-creature toy robot inspired by BEAM technologies. Hexbug has a handful of rather simple behaviors. Once switched on, Hexbug will move forward with a traditional alternating tripod gait. If an obstruction touches either of the antennae, or if it detects a loud sound it will back up to the left and then continue forward. The name Hexbug, then again, has more to do with the shape of the packaging it is sold in than the number of legs it has.
HEXBUG feels its way about sensing objects in its path and avoiding them. And it can even hear! You can manage where it scurries by way of a hand clap, loud noise or table slap. The robotic bug will travel forward till it hits an obstacle or hears a loud noise. It will then backup in a half circle and then move forward in a several path. HEXBUG comes in 5 distinct shapes and colors: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, and Echo.
